Registration

It takes only a few seconds to register. Once you registered on Tiger Trade, you will be able to practice trading on a paper account (demo account) by using $100,000 virtual funds, you will also gain access to free market data.

The Tiger paper account is a fantastic way to gain trading experience with zero risk.

 

Open an account

Before your account is open, we are required by law to verify your identity. It takes about 5-10 minutes for us to do so and you can do it all online or within our App.

We also ask you some general questions about your investing experience, and might ask questions around the source of your funds or wealth in line with obligations to meet anti-money laundering (AML) requirements.

 

What documents are required to open an account?

A valid ID and a proof of residential address (the bank statement is compulsory).

A valid ID:

A New Zealand driver’s license or a New Zealand passport.

You can use your overseas passport to open an account with us. However, you need to verify that document before you submit it to us. There are two ways to do that:

  1. Call us at 09-393-8128 to make an appointment and bring your passport to our Auckland office at Level 16/191 Queen Street.
  2. You can get a certified copy of your passport through a Justice of the Peace. Please ask the JP certifying the copy to include the following testimony, otherwise that copy might be rejected:

“I certify this to be a true copy of the original, which I have sighted, and the photo represents a true likeness of [the person presenting the document to me for certification] [OR][customer’s name]”

 

A proof of residential address: Bank Statement

Must clearly show the account holder's full name, current residential address and have been issued within the past 6 months.

 

Why is your bank statement required?

To meet anti-money laundering (AML) requirements, we need to verify that the bank account you used to transfer money into your Tiger account is in fact owned by you. We confirm that by obtaining your bank statement, as that document will show your name, bank account details, and address. Your first deposit must come from the bank account of the statement you submitted when opening your Tiger account. 

A document that serves as evidence of your bank account details can also be accepted. It must contain your name, residential address, bank account number. In addition to that, the document must have been issues less than six months before it is submitted to us. If you wish to do that, you can black out parts of you bank statement to cover balances.

How can I fund my account with Joint Account?

The following three documents are required:

1.Your joint account bank statement (Which match the account you deposit to us);

2.Screenshot of your bank deposit; and

3.Joint account holder’s ID (NZ driver license/NZ passport) if you deposit through a joint account.

Usually, it would take around 2-3 working days to process a joint account deposit.
